Forgiving Rosary

I got a wonderful present from a very good friend, who is a great spiritual director, THE FORGIVING ROSARY…. together with another excellent person, they have been working the teachings from Luisa Piccarreta, God´s servant. More information at lallamadadelamor@gmail.com.

On the following links you can download the original documents (in Spanish) which are the base of this article.
DOCUMENTO ORIGINAL ROSARIO DE PERDON
FOLLETO ROSARIO DE PERDON

A while ago I did this exercise to forgive a couple of people; being practical, for me was the same if the things that happened where deliberated or not; if I misinterpreted them or not. To succeed with the forgiving process,my friend taught me

that things must be call by their name (or as I think they are); in a clear, straight, direct and concrete way; not minimizing them, neither disguising them, nor excusing them.

The point is that the thorn nailed in my heart, pained a lot!... so to heal my heart I understood that the only thing I could do was to forgive,… therefore I assumed this exercise very serious, and as a priority and concentrated myself working it out. The more I was doing it, more unpleasant and painful people and situations where popping up in my mind… seemed I was walking like the crabs, backwards… but just cleaning the dirt of the top, I could start seeing and being conscious of the dirt underneath… so even though looked like I was going deeper into the mud, the truth was that the cleaning was being deeper and deeper … I worked very truly and accurately and although in that moment I couldn’t see significant changes, in retrospect I can say that they have happened and quite revealing!

A good friend pointed out that even though I was living a situation over which I had virtually no control at all, praying these forgiving Rosary was a way to start the inner liberating … beautiful!... and be sure that life had me tied very strong!… literally I was seeing and feeling myself like a Christmas roast pork with a large fork on!…

I feel that the Forgiving Rosary can be very positive even for people who doesn’t have religious believing… I trust in the benefit of repeating these prayers over and over again, because they end up permeating our mind and soul…. the love and kindness from our Father will manifest in everyone, even those who don’t believe… and truth is that we don’t risk anything trying it out.

If anyone prefers to take off any religious connotation, I suggest changing or dropping the references to God, Jesus or the Holy Virgin. I feel in my heart that They won’t be “offended”, and the benefit of the cleansing can happen, which is what at last matters…. what love looks for, the healthiness from every human being on earth.

The Forgiving Rosary healed me a lot, making my wound smaller. However I was wondering why in some cases I was still with the hassle, anger, and bother, despite of having done very focus and judiciously the exercise of forgiving. And when the person repeated the aggression, then the previous discomfort grew immediately like milk when it boils!... so recently I understood that achieving the acceptance from my heart, towards the person that offended me, was the final step to be completely heal.

Therefore I started asking my Heavenly Father, how I could accept someone whom I feel attacked by… how????? … praying I found out that, as with forgiving, I CAN’T accept someone that mistreats me… but, I CAN DECIDE to accept that person, and ask my Father to put that acceptance in my heart.

If I accept the person, with the characteristics as I see them (no matter if they are real or not), I will stop expecting and waiting the he will change; and if the case merits, I will protect myself avoiding exposures to his aggressions. If the offenses are not so heavy, I will end up ignoring them because I have accepted that he is like that, and I won’t expect something different… wonderful!

I’m still far from having cleaned completely my heart!! But step by step I have been achieving peace, despite the strong events that I have been through…. the following anecdote shows how I feel. Many years ago had the fortune to get to know a beautiful kid who was born with a cleft lip. After one of many operations he went through, at a children’s party, a little girl asked his mother (my friend) “what happened to him????”, she answered that he had been operated from his mouth; to which the girl replied “but the doctor did a bad job!”… that is how I feel…. have done a big inner job, struggle a lot, but probably it doesn’t look like …

SUGGESTED PROCEDURE
First work the Forgiving Rosary, next the Untie Rosary, and finally the Acceptance Rosary. These Rosaries consists of a section which starts with a led prayer. Next, comes the basic prayer seven times in a row. And the section is repeated 70 times, so you end up praying 70 times 7. As the document “Rosario de Perdón” attached says:  “Then came Peter and said to him, (Jesus) Lord, how often my brother shall sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times; but, until seventy times seven”.

FIRST “FORGIVING ROSARY”
1.  Make a list of the offenses done by the person you decided to forgive. Have it on hand, to add new ones while doing the exercise.
2.  Do the beginning prayer Rosary: I place (the person to forgive) in the heart of the Holy Virgin and under Jesus cross; and request that Your blood, dear Jesus, will cover (the person), me and my wounds, so they will be healed.
3.  Repeat 70 times this section which starts with the following head prayer,
Jesus through Your word, "Father forgive them for they don’t know what they do", you gave us the power to forgive; power that I receive, and do mine.
4.  Repeat seven consecutive times the basic prayer that will complete a section, as:
Based on Your forgiveness, I forgive (the person) for (offense committed by the person).

Forgiving Rosary – repeat it 10 times to complete the total of 70 times 7.

SECOND “UNTIED ROSARY”
The goal doing this Rosary is to break the chains and power that other people can have over us, as a result of aggressions, repeatedly mistreats, sometimes understood as Codependence.
1.  Do the beginning prayer Rosary: I place (the person to forgive) in the heart of the Holy Virgin and under Jesus cross; and request that Your blood dear Jesus will cover (the person), me and my wounds so they will be healed.
2.  Repeat 70 times this section which starts with the following head prayer,
Jesus I give you my will and take yours as mine, with your strength and power.
3.  Repeat seven consecutive times the basic prayer that will complete a section, as:
In virtue of the Divine Will I forgive (the person) and untie the fear, power and invasion I gave to (the person) over me.

Untying Rosary – repeat it 10 times to complete the total of 70 times 7.

THIRD “ACCEPTANCE ROSARY”
1.  Do the beginning prayer Rosary: I place (the person to accept) in the heart of the Holy Virgin and under Jesus cross; and request that Your blood dear Jesus will cover (the person), and me.
2.  Repeat 70 times this section which starts with the following head prayer,
Jesus, you told us “love your enemies and pray for those who harass you”, power to love that You gave me and I take as mine!
3.  Repeat seven consecutive times the basic prayer that will complete a section, as:
In virtue of the Divine Will I accept (the person) as (the person) is.

Accepting Rosary – repeat it 10 times to complete the total of 70 times 7.

Have a nice day!!
